A lot of the time “getting away” doesn’t need to involve going to the airport, shuffling through security checks and buying a ton of unnecessary duty-free gadgets. Sometimes you just need to jump in your car and drive. Pack a small bag and hit the road for a few days.
A while back we took a trip down to the southern tip of Florida. Key West.
There’s nothing like the hit of fresh air you get or the cooling ocean breeze that fills your lungs when you’re out on those long open roads.
Try to take in your surroundings while out on your road trip as there can be many great stops along the way including some great photo opportunities. There is so much we can miss when driving around. Make a part of the getaway, the getting there.
You’re out on the open road now. Turn your favourite song up, sing like it’s only your mates sitting in the car watching. Put that top down (if you can), let your hair down (if you can) and hold those hands high into the blue sky. Don’t let go of the wheel though.
Check out this funky little Café. Guess what they sold?
Key Lime Pie. Didn’t find any keys or limes. Did find fluffy yumminess.
It was one of those spontaneous journeys that sent us back home refreshed and inspired to travel to the next unknown destination as soon as we could.
